If you’ve ever thought that catching carp off the surface was something confined to bright sunny conditions, when fish are showing all over the lake, then this DVD dispels that myth. Fanatical surface angler Chris Ball a floater angler with 25 years experience, presents this, his third film for the Original Video Company on surface fishing. He takes the viewer to three different venues on the Shimano/Linear Oxford complex plus a visit to the Carp Society’s Horseshoe Lake in search of surface feeding carp. Weather conditions throughout the making of this DVD were far from ideal, whenever filming took place it was either cold and windy with driving rain, overcast with tremendous humidity, or intense heat that nearly melted the camera and cameraman. Rigs such as the Beachcaster and Zig Rig are discussed as well as making floater cake, a neglected bait that can produce results when all else fails. The variety of different venues and how Chris tackles each one in turn- combating the carps natural caution, not to mention the extreme conditions makes this DVD an absorbing one to watch. The final furious action sequences show what happens when everything comes together, even when carp are reluctant to feed at the start of the session, and this provides a fitting conclusion to this film on Advanced Floater Fishing. So join Carp-Talk’s Chris Ball at what he does best… catching surface feeding carp, regardless of the conditions and lands carp to over 20 pound. You are bound to learn from a man who confesses to eating, sleeping and even dreaming about floater fishing, when other mere mortals just go to bed to sleep! Running Time: Approx 82 min.
