Steamer baits (Boilies) with a difference

We are a new small company with a new product for the consumer market and one that other companies are not offering to the discerning angler at this time.

But before I explain further let me just point out that there have always been concerns in the consumer market place regarding the quality of the baits being offered for sale, as there are bait products on the market that are neither good quality nor value for money or good for the fish they are designed to catch.

This will unfortunately always be the case as people want to make a fast profit, I would hope we all know the reputable companies that have produced good quality baits in the past and present, but in general terms just how good are they?

BALANCE OF INGREDIENTS

We have known for years that quality ingredients with the right balance of proteins, fatty acids, fibre, minerals, amino’s etc. are beneficial to fish and can promote feeding spells in otherwise uninterested fish to improve catch rates, we also know that feeding a quality product over long periods of time will show a progressive improvement in weight gain and health to targeted fish and general fish stocks.
We decided when we started this company that we would not compromise and would strive to produce these quality products to maximise on the potential to improve catch rates for any angler and not produce a bait to catch the angler alone.

SO WHY

Why steam our baits? We believe its no good producing a HNV boilie then boiling the minerals, proteins, amino’s and fats out of the bait, as we are defeating the object (in part) by doing this also the attractiveness of the bait is reduced in effect, to be honest when you heat foods for cooking there is always denaturing of the proteins to a degree and it is no different when steaming.

To clarify, by not boiling the goodness out of our products it means that there is much less wash off effect as the steam is penetrating to cook without submersion and loss of vital ingredients, which wash out when emersed and then boiled in water, by avoiding this we can give you that extra and/ or instant attraction to your bait.

If you look in the pan after you boil your baits and compare with the steaming process you would see what I mean, this is why some companies load the bait with flavourings to promote the effectiveness of the bait. Unfortunately the process of boiling baits has been and still is the easiest, fastest and cheapest option, so a compromise has been adopted.

TOP CARP ANGLERS

If you look at the catch records of top anglers in the country, and by what we are told, we find that most of these anglers that continue to bank big fish use HNV boilies or some product with the right mix of amino’s etc. These baits are prepared either by individuals themselves, for themselves, but usually by bait companies for field-testing and have caught numerous carp before they are put on the market for sale, but think how much better these baits would be if the ingredients were not diluted in the boiling process.

THE AIM OF OUR COMPANY

Our aim is to produce the BEST STEAMED BAITS POSSIBLE, we know that they are more time consuming and to some degree more costly and labour intensive to produce than boiling them but we think the end result justifies the process involved, we believe, (and correct me if I am wrong) that putting the best possible quality and combination of ingredients together, using human grade quality product in a lot of our mixes AND RETAINING THAT QUALITY IN THE COOKING PROCESS will not only help put more fish on the bank but may contribute to improving the quality of our fishing in the years to come.

We know that the average person is a short session anglers, (as we are ourselves) I very rarely go on sessions longer that twenty four hours and I know a lot of other anglers who do not get the time to do long sessions due to commitments at home, work and other priorities, so we have been looking closely at alternative ingredients which other companies are not yet using, we needed an edge as most people do, we believe we have found that edge in the make up of our final products.

UNIQUE INGREDIENTS

So to cut a long story short we have come up with formulations of ingredients to produce steamed baits which do not lose any great degree of protein, mineral, or any other type of loss in the wash out process of boiling.
One of our mixes is so unique it does not contain any milk protein or fish meal product and some of the other ingredients are not generally used by other companies, which gives the carp something new and unique that they have not encountered before.
These baits have an excellent amino profile and they retain properties during the steaming process, they deliver an excellent feeding trigger to feeding and non feeding fish which can get you that extra pickup, we have been testing these baits in our local waters in the North Yorkshire area with some excellent results.
Field-testing is continuing in France and other areas. This last bait with no added fishmeal or milk product is to be sold to anglers as early as September 2007.

Our intention is to produce baits that also have a long-term beneficial factor to the health of the targeted fish, which in the end is good for us all, we do not see the point in producing a bait that is not beneficial to the fish or good value for the angler, this may seem a little naive you might say but we are a small company and if our baits are not valued by the angler in the short term, then our company does not survive.

BASE MIX’S

The three base mix’s we produce for the consumer can be purchased in 1 kg bags or larger, for you to add flavours and roll your own, all additives, minerals and amino’s etc. are incorporated, including egg powder, you just add your own flavour and enough fluids to roll and either steam or boil.

These mixes are excellent value for money for the person wishing to roll his own, they are all FOUR season base mixes incorporating only top quality ingredients with a High Nutritional Value, personalising these mixes with your own flavouring may give you the edge on your local water.
Please see dry mix section for quantities and pricing.
